Finally! The Cross-country green was open. They had taken their time fixing it up after the storm all but ruined it. Of course Solitare and Valentino were the first to give it a try.
The beautifully groomed warmblood was, as usual, trying to annoy Gabriella. He threw his head up and down, up and down, refusing to walk and backing up. In return she was kicking his sides and using her new whip to discourage him (or just beat the crap out of him ) "C'mon!" she screamed, pulling him in a tight circle and giving a sharp boot in the barrel. He lurched into motion, comng from a spooked canter down to a trot. "Stupid horse." she grunted. He hadn't been ridden in a few days so it was expected of him to show his strong, stubborn side. Of course someone was using the lunging rind and there was no way she was going to try and lunge him in an arena.
Stopping at the top of the hill she could see nearly all of the jumps, including the small stream. Now, that was the problem, water. For some reason Valentino would always throw a tantrum as soon as he'd spotted it. Not that he was scared of the water he just loved to be stubborn. Solitare was hoping to break his attitude (which she doubted).
Valentino was ignoring the commands to walk on. Insted he bent his neck to pull out some grass. Then a sharp tug pulled his head back up. Another kick and then a quick slap with a the stick his human insisted on hitting him with. With an angry snort he began to walk "Just you wait.." he grumbled. As she kicked again he bucked, nothing to amazing though. He heard a voice behind him, not his humans but another. "Urggh the leader."
