Lucky lead the athletic looking bay slowly into the arena. Their bond was still growing, even after almost two years of competing together. Lucky's nimble fingers were gentely looped around the leather reins, which hung loosely in her hand. Humming bird followed obediantly, retracing her riders steps. Since Humming bird was only 15.2hh she didn't need a mounting block, insted she put the reins over the mares head and pulled them back towards the saddle whilst she mounted in one swift move. After checking the girth, stirrups and other leather straps that she had to admit she couldn't recall their names. Keeping a slight feel of her mouth, not to hard but enough to keep Bird awake. Smoothly she asked for walk, Humming bird responded and moved into a lively forward walk. Once she was sure her beloved horse had been warmed up she pushed her forward into a steady trot. Humming bird obeyed silently, no questions asked. Pulling lightly on the mouth she turned him in down the middle of the arena, and, collecting her reins and sitting deeper in the saddle she moved her into a floating canter, with paces to die for. There at the end of her vision lay a red and white jump, set at a 2.9ft height. It was obvious Bird knew what she was looking at as her ears pricked forward and she lined herself up, still cantering effortlessly. A pace before the jump Lucky sat up in her seat, just in time as Bird pushed off the ground and flew over to the other side, landing safely. Utada's hand came down, patting the mare's neck firmly. "Good girl."
