Sitting atop the large mare Luke looked around the forest. The trees were nice a green and he smiled tapping his toes against Jodie's side. The mare moved forward eagerly but slowly. She bobbed her head and pulled against the reins a little. Luke laughed and gave her some room tapping his feet again. She loped off down the path and he smiled taking a deep breath of fresh air. He could hear the low rimble of the river ahead and he grinned again but didn't let Jodie rush him. He was enjoying his relaxing time with his good friend and companion.

`` `` `` Meredith leaped from the outdoor mounting block, onto her little grey pony's bare back, she'd decided to go saddleless today. It was too difficult to swing onto Ares's back from the ground because of her extremely tiny height. But, it was also fun, at the same time. She would get to ride ponies for the rest of her life. Which was what she preferred, much more than horses. Walking along the concrete, so crossed the grassy hayfield, towards a towering forest, picking up a trot, knowing if she ever want to get to her destination, which just happened to be 6 miles away, she should probably get moving. Concentrating on keeping her butt glued to her pony's back, to keep the ride smooth, and enjoyable. She picked up a canter, intending to keep in at a nice slow pace, though that didn't last long, she soon found herself digging her heels into her pony's side, nudging him faster. He completely agreed with her, that the slow pace just wasn't cutting it. He swung his head up, shaking it around. He had spunk today.
Finding the red clay trail she'd been search for, she took a left, heading for the place she'd agreed to meet Luke. Continuing happily along the trail, Ares showed no signs of his endurance or energy level dropping. Out of her peripheral vision, she saw a horse and riding who had stopping themselves by the river. She and Ares flew past them, but she quickly, pulled him to a halt, he struggled a bit, but stopped as she asked. Making a quick turned on the haunches, they turned back to the pair. Recognizing the mans face, she smiled. "Hi, Luke." she said, "Sorry about that, I didn't scare her too bad did I?" she asked, referring to his mare.

Luke smiled up at the woman. "Hey. Oh her?" he asked looking at Jodie. "Nothing scares her." He stood up from kneeling on the ground by the river and looked up to her. "So, how's you day been going?" he asked taking the mare's reins so she wouldn't wonder off anywhere. He streched his back and waited for an answer. "I personally didn't have much to do." He laughed and ran a hand through his short hair with a sigh. Looking up at the sky he wanted to be sure weather permitted a trail ride.

`` `` `` Meredith shrugged, hopping off, and grabbing a hold on the reins with her tiny hands. "Just life, I suppose," she said with a relaxed sigh. "Hey, Jodie." Meredith greeted Luke's horse, something she always did with Equine's: she said hello to them. "Besides 'nothing', what's been going on with you? Anything?" she asked, questioning, before walking over to the side of the dark-blue river, which was gushing with water from the previous rain.

Jodie nickered and nuzzled the hand that petted her. Luke watched as she moved towards the water. "Oh just working with the horses I guees. I like to come out for a ride once in a while to cool off. It's really cool out here too." he added looking at the sceneary. The water and trees and open space made him feel like he was home. And Jodie love to get out and just mozy on down teh trails. He stepped forward closer to Mere and looked down at the river to. It's dark blue waters flowed freely and looked so inviting to him.

`` `` `` Meredith smiled, nodding in agreement. "I visited New York City, for a little bit, before I came back here. The world has so many different atmospheres." she said, shaking her head. "This one being my favorite. The air in NYC is so thick and infected." she said. "But, I didn't know my way very well, so I probably was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." she said, smiling half-heartedly at her thoughts. "So, were did you live before this Luke?" she asked conversationally.

Luke smiled thinking of his past. "I was born and raised out west. My faily owned a cattle operation based in Montanta. I headed the local farm and pretty much took care of everything there with my own hands to help out. It was a great time for me and I miss it sometimes." He sighed thinking of the large sprawling ranch and the cattle. This place was so formal compared to his home. Most didn't care for his country lifestyle but his ruggedness always caught the girls attention. "I'm sure you're past is quite different from mine." He said looking towards her.
