All you hear is the clatter of hooves as Emma and Lily enter the barn. Emma was still mounted, and riding right in. Nobody seemed to mind, considering that nobody was there. Well, at least she though that nobody was there.
She had to duck as they walked through the big double doors. Emma swung herself sideways so she wouldn’t hit her head. She didn’t have far to do, for she was no.10 (and there were two doors each end of the barn, one to the driveway were horses were unloaded, and the other the courtyard side, to the fields and arena, and basically the whole of Sunny bridge.)
She pulled Lily to a halt. She leant forward, giving her a light slap on the neck (as a pat) and quickly dismounted, simply throwing herself forward, chucking her legs back and swinging her weight over and sliding off. She gave the mare another pat before lifting the saddle flap and undoing the girth, pulling the saddle off the mares back. She didn’t bother running her stirrups up, just placed it on the ground. She was going to clean it later, anyway. Lily was fine standing outside her stall. She was trying to chew hay threw the stall bars and in her half empty haynet.
Emma got her headcoller and buckled it round her neck. She unbuckled the noseband and throat-lash quickly, pulling it and the martingale over her mares head. She then did the headcoller properly, pulling it up over the muzzle and the strap over her poll, buckling it in place securely.
She walked through to the feed room and grabbed one of her buckets and filled it with the tap. She walked back to the stall & offered the mare a drink. She also dipped her dandy brush in the water so she could brush away from sweat stains. She hadn’t been sweating that much, and it was mostly because she had got herself worked up with napping and bolting. She mare dropped her dead, dipping her muzzle into the water and started to take a long good drink. Emma started brushing her sides.

`` `` A Hard Day's Night Meredith rode across the blacktop driveway, she'd just come back from riding with Emma and Lily. Which was fun. It was nice to ride with someone for a change. With a sigh, Meredith dropped her stirrups, continuing to ride into the barn, and down the aisle to her stall, number five, which was written in a pretty, and italicized font. Letting her reins drop, she dismounted incorrectly. Throwing her right leg up in front of her, and over Ares's neck, sliding down till her feet touch the ground. She bent her knees to absorb in impact of her landing.
She sighted again, relaxed. Leading Ares to the closest empty cross-tie, she left him standing, ground-tied, the reins still over his head. Something she'd tought him to do in her free-time. Grabbing his black safety halter, she walked back to the her little grey pony, she took the reins over his head, after unclipping his martingale. Unlatching all of the snaps, she pulled his bridle off, leaving him completely unrestrained. Putting the halter towards his face, he reached for it, trying to stick him nose in the right whole, Meredith helped him. She laughed, when found the right hole, getting impatient, waiting for her to complete the process, she did as she was 'told'. Messing with his forelock, she reached for the right cross-tie, and then the left. Snapping both of them into place.
The silence seemed so loud. Meredith noticed to herself, as she pulled her iPhone out of her jean pocket, scrolling until she found an appropriate song to fit her mood. "So, Em," Meredith began, speaking Emma, obviously, since there was not one else. "what kind of food are you in the mood for? This town has like....everything. Homeland food, American, Mexican, Chinese.....24 hour breakfast places. You name it and it probably is known here." she finished with a shrug. Continuing over to Ares, she undid his girth, removing the martingale end loop from around the middle of the girth. Undoing the other side, she threw the leather girth over the top of her saddle. Pulling all of her tack off including her saddle-pad, altogether, and resting it on her portable saddle rack that clipped on to a panel of her stall. Grabbing one of her two curry gloves from her tack trunk, she began scrubbing Ares's white coat, trying to get the sweat stains out.
When she finally got him mostly dry, she ran a stiff brush over the curly hair, where she'd been currying him. She couldn't help but laugh at the sight of her pony. He had one foot c ocked up, his eye were half-way shut, his tongue was almost hanging out of his mouth, and....to be honest, he was practically dead on his feet. Returning her brushes to the trunk, she walked over to the blanket room disappeared for several seconds, and returning moments later, with a blue weatherbeeta blanket. Unfolding it, she found the front, balling up the right side, she through it over Ares's back, attaching all of the clips securely.
Unsnapping the cross-ties, she grabbed a treat out of her trunk, and showed him his prize. She walked to the inside of his stall, as he eagerly trotted towards her. She laughed, ruffling his forelock. Ponies would do anything for food. Unsnapping his leadrope. She hung it on the stall hook. Sliding the stall door closed, she opened up the feeder, so that it was on the outside of the stall now. Walking into the feed room, she prepared his dinner, he got virtually nothing, a handful of two, literally. Dumping the meal into the container, she twisted the feeder so that it was back in his stall. Ares didn't delay. The moment he had clearance, he dove into the meal. Devouring it as quickly as he cook. "Night lovie." she laughed.
"Can I help with anything?" she asked, trying to do some good with herself. I should be sleeping like a log `` `` Word Count: 737 Now Playing: Swans by Unkle Bob

“Yes!” She said to herself, in her head, at Meredith’s request. There was a lot for her to do with two horses, but it wouldn’t be nice poo picking a stall for someone.
“No, I’ll be fine.” Emma said in an answer out loud this time. “One I’ve finished grooming I’ll muck out, rug & feed.”
Emma sponged the mares face and bum (With two different sponges, of course!) And then went onto hoof picking. She took her bucket (Or her sisters bucket) and picked up her hoof pick. She ran her hands down the mare’s neck, down her shoulder, to her knee and right down to her hoof. She made a clicking sound with her tongue “Up, up, up…” She would say, quickly. Lily lifted her foot. Emma started to talk to Meredith as she picked the mud out her mare’s foot.
“Food…” She said, “Emm, I’m to sure to be honest. I’m not fussy. I like most things. You know what’s best around here, so you can choose.”
She looked up, placing the mare’s hoof down carefully. She went onto the next, chatting away about different foods back at home, like she always did. Just chatting. She did all four hoofs.
“Good girl.” Emma smiled, rubbing her mare’s neck. “I best start mucking out. I’ll start with Abbie.”
She walked into stall nine, disappearing into the back of the stable. She must of looked odd. There was nothing there! Emma lent down. “Up girl.” She said. A dapple grey Arab rose to her feet. She shook herself, looking slightly sleepy. “She’s just had a nap.” Emma said, stating the obvious. She smiled at her mare. Abbie was wearing a red amigo stable rug, the same red and pumice matching headcoller and leadrope. After a little pat Emma walked her out of the stable quickly. She turned the mare sharply out of the box (Which Abbie seemed to be used to) and tied her up with a loose tie knot. She gave her a polo, which the greedy little mare ate quickly. She was smaller than Ares, 14.2hh. “This is my little mare. I bet she’s the smallest on the yard – but way the cheekiest!”
She grabbed her sister’s poo picker skip, little fork and a bigger one. She walked into the stable & picked up a pile of dung in the corner, then left the skip outside. She took the fork and mixed the straw to make it airier and nicer. She did the same for Lily.
“Alright then.” She said, dumping the equipment she used outside her sisters box with the chestnut mare in. She didn’t realise what it looked like, for nobody knew that she had her sister here. It looked like she just used some random persons stuff and just left it there. “I best get these little horrors their feeds.” She smiled.
She untied Abbie, who was taking a nap again, seeming to be exhausted by her schooling session. Emma guided her towards the stable, and then let her walk in herself. She circled then walked back to the door. She seemed to know what time it was, feed time.
She walked up to Lily and did the same before going to get them feeds. She looked back at Meredith. “I’ve just got to get them fed.” She said. “I need to rug Lily. If you want, you can rug her, but it’s ok if you don’t. I’ll just put it on when I get back with there feeds. It's the voilet derby house stable rug. The one hanging on the stable wall, barry thingy."
She walked into the feed room and grabbed her two buckets. It was 4.40pm. They It was time for Abbie’s last feed, and Lily’s 3rd. She was going to have to go back and give her another at 8pm. Lily got, · 4lbs Oats · 2lbs H&P comp nuts · 1lbs micro barley · Salt, oil, chopped carrots Abbie got · 2lbs Hi-fi nuts · 1lb Micro barley · Linseed, handful maize, Molassed chaff, Carrots, salt, oil.
She also gave grabbed her mares haynets. She had a Medium sized haynet for Abbie, and a large haynet with fine netting for Lily. She walked out the feed room and started walking down to the horse’s stalls to give them their feeds.
Occ – Sorry for suck a long post! I don’t think I’ll be able to get on much, but there you go if I don’t. Sorry for late posts J

`` `` A Hard Day's Night Meredith laughed. Rubbing on Abbie's little nose. She laughed again. "Nope! My little dude is 14.1!" she said with a smile. "It's surprising though, to be honest. Both of his parents are huge! Maybe it's his grand sire, or something along those lines." She changed the subject quickly, a question popping into her mind. "What breed did you say she was?" Reaching around in her pocket, she paused the music that was playing. "Um...." she thought. "Hmmmm......the 24 Hour Breakfast Place is awesome. Killer waffles." she said. Her stomach growling just at the thought. "The Mexican place is really good too though. So it's your decision. “Oh Abbie…?” Emma asked, walking down the stables. “She Arab. Odd huh? You wouldn’t expect them for show jumpers; more show horses or even endurance. That one thing Abb’s is brilliant at. She has the most amazing stamina.” Emma leaded over Lily’s stall door and emptied her feed into the manger. The mare came walking up and dropping her muzzle straight into the mix. “The problem is,” Emma carried on. “That she bolts a lot, and there’s no stopping her. She can go on for ages. She quite a young mare, a green pony. 7 years old. Ok, that’s not so old, but she acts like she’s 2.” Emma tipped Abbie’s feed. She did it quickly, always swinging it all into the manger. This was because Abbie was greedy ad dived for her feed, so you needed to get it in fast. You would think Emma was starving the poor pony! “She isn’t a kicker as much, she more just bucks, so she has a red tail. (OOC – Just to say, she means the bandages for kicking horses, not that she has a real red tail.) But she’s a good little pony anyway.” Emma walked into Lily’s stall, seeing that Meredith didn’t put her rug on. She didn’t really take notice, even though it would of helped. It was her horse, anyway. She started rugging her mare up while she was feeding, still talking. “Anyway, food. Mexican sounds nice… Yeah.” She said, walking out the stable. “That’s my horses done, wanna head up to the dorms?” Emma asked, leaning on the stable door.

At that moment there was a gentle tapping of hooves as Lindsey walked into the stable. She walked down the isle, dragging her mare behind her. Ruby was walking slowly, not seeming all that keen to come away from the pony field.
The mare was all kitted out in winter gear – A shires “Cherokee winter combo,” Basically a purple rug with a built in hood for a pony. The mare had a violet and purple striped headcoller on, getting pulled along by a matching muddy leadrope. She walked lazily, dragging her legs behind her. She seemed to have forgotten about the feed ahead of her.
Lindsey walked past her sister practically ignoring her, which Emma didn’t seem to pleased about. She didn’t even notice Meredith. She walked down to Ruby’s stall & opened the door as wide as it would go, shortening the leadrope. She stood, holding the door open with her hip and guided the mare in. Ruby knew where she was going, and walked right in. Lindsey threw the leadrope over her mare’s neck, allowing her jump to go freely.
The little pony went straight for the haynet hanging at the front of the stable. Lindsey came in behind her, tying the mare up, even though there was no need. Ruby wouldn’t do anything.
Lindsey took off the rug quickly, pulling it off her so Ruby just stood freely. She threw the turnout rug over the stable partition, and then exchanged it for another one, her new grape “PonyWarma” stable rug. She gave her mare a pat, and went into her pocket, finding a whole carrot and offered it to Ruby. Ruby paused from her eating, stopping to look at the treat then went for it, taking it in her mouth and started to crunch it up.
Lindsey walked out of the stable, but paused to notice the skips standing outside the stall. They were full – not how she had left them. She knew exactly what happened. “Have you been using my stuff again?” She snapped at her bigger sister, “How many times have I told you!!!”

Emma saw her little sister walk into the barn, ignoring her as she walked past. “What? Not even a Hello?” She said, leaning forward to stare at her little sis walking past, “Fine. You can be a real moody cow at times, Lindsey.” Still no reply.
Her sister disappeared into the stable. “You’re a little late, aren’t you?” She called, down the yard, almost forgetting that Meredith was there. “You have to stick to a certain time with feeding Ruby, you know that.”
Her sister walked out of the stable, to get some feed, Emma though. But then she stopped, looking down at the stable cleaning equipment that Emma had used. She started to have a go at Emma. “Have you been using my stuff again? How many times have I told you!”
“Oh, what now!” Emma said, walking down towards her little sister, “Shut up Lindsey, I only used it. There no need to take a fit.” She rolled her eyes and looked back at Meredith.
She could tell this wasn’t going to go down good with Lindsey. Looks like a fight coming up…

“Only used it!!!” Lindsey shouted, “It’s my stuff, you could at least clean out you’re mess! And don’t tell me to shut up!”
She strided up to her sister, giving her a light shove, sending her a step backwards. “Why can you use your own stuff anyway?!”

Emma sighed, tipping her head back and rolling her eyes. She knew where this was going – to a big fight. She was used to her little sister, and what she was like. There was no point in getting into a fight. Deep down she knew she did kind of start it... “Yeah...” Emma trailed off, turning to look at Meredith. She took one hand and placed it on Lindsey head and turned her to look at Meredith. This is my little sister, Lindsey...”
She smiled, looking at Meredith, then back at her little sister. “Go and get that pony of yours fed. She must be starving.” She then shut Lindsey out completely. She really didn’t care about the snartling or “Don’t you tell me what to do!” All she though about was that food right now.
“So, lets get going. Coming up to the dorms to get changed?”
Occ – Should we bother making a new thread for the dorms...?
