May got out of her car and walked around to the back of the horse trailer. She had finally arrived at the fabled Sunny Bridge Academy.
She slowly lowered the ramp of the trailer and then walked in when it was down completely. Inside, was a gorgeous dapple grey mare that she called Snowflake or Wish Upon A Snowflake. May led the mare backwards and out of the trailer by the black leather halter. On the halter, there was a metal name-plate that read 'Snowflake'
Snowflake walked calmly beside May as the girl led her towards the barn. The mare was always like this. She never worried about new horses and she hardly ever spooked.

Lindsey walked down the barn, sniffing. She was probably coming down with the cold. She strode down the barn carrying a bucket holding a feed. The bucket had “RUBY” painted on the side in bold letters. If was filled with pony cubes, barley & sugar beet pulp.
Ruby knew what was coming. She came away from her hay net, pushing her head over the stable look, watching Longley at the feed with bright eyes. The mare whinnied, pricking her ears. She started to toss her head up and down, kicking the stable door to tell her owner to hurry up. She was normally great, but she seemed to lose all manners round food.
“Alright, alright, I’m coming.” Lindsey grumbled, not noticing the newcomer unloading from the trailer. She sniffed again, walking up to the box. By this time Ruby had stopped, and was waiting eagerly for the feed. Lindsey walked up to the box, holding the feed away from Ruby so she wouldn’t dive into it. The mare tried reaching over to it, but couldn’t get at it with Lindsey in the way.
Lindsey unlocked the bolt, allowing the door to open a little bit, just so she could fit in. “Back.” She said firmly, putting a hand out to push on the pony’s chest, but found she didn’t need to – the mare had already obeyed. She knew the rules, and stepped back, putting her head down the floor, ready for the feed. Lindsey dumped the bucket on the floor, not bothering with the manger. Ruby was just too greedy. She watched her mare dive into the feed, eating it quickly. It was hard to think that this was the same pony, for now it was winter the mare had lost the big belly that she got in summer from all the grass.
Lindsey retreated from the stable, locking the door behind her. She turned, sniffing again, leaning against the stable door. It was only then that she noticed the young girl coming down the barn with a dapple grey pony. Although she really didn’t feel like it, she decided to make an effort to introduce herself.
“Hi.” She smiled, sniffing again. She really didn’t look that good. “You’re new?”

May clucked to Snowflake as she walked down the isle of the barn. The beautiful dapple grey's silky coat shone in the light. She had groomed her for about an hour before it started to glisten that much.
"Hi. You're new?" Was what she heard first when she came inside. Even before the horses. May looked up and saw a girl looking at her. "Yeah. I'm May and this," She said before patting Snowflake. "is Snowflake, or Wish Upon A Snowflake." She said affectionately.

“Hmm...” Lindsey thought to herself. “Fancy that...” Instead she just smiled, trying to be friendly. She turned, looking at her greedy mare finishing off that feed. She was going to need two rugs out in this weather. It wasn’t the nicest. She turned, folding her arms on the door and resting her chin, waiting for the mare to finish her feed. She would take the hay net and hang it in the field shelter, but she couldn’t just leave the bucket in there. The mare greedily tried to get the little feed taht was left in the bucket. Classic.
“So...” Lindsey said, walking away from the box and walking to Ares box. “Do you know you’re room number yet? I’m still waiting for my roommates.” She seemed to have forgot to introduce herself.
She found a polo in her pocket and gave it to the pony, who was looking out the box eagerly. She lay it flat on her hand, giving him the treat. She then walked down the yard to see her sisters ponies. She walked up to Abbie and smiled. She liked this pony and there had been talk about her getting a new pony. Her sister got two horses, so why couldn’t she? She had been looking through local magazines from where she came from and saw what looked like the most perfect pony. She rubbed the mares forehead, feeling her soft forelock. She’d rode Abbie before, she was a tricky pony to ride, but she really liked her.

May shook her head softly. "I wanted to get my gorgeous girl settled first. It's important to me that she is comfortable before I am." She said happily. The mare nudged her softly and May pulled out a sugar cube. "You deserve it for being so nice with all these new horses." She said to the horse while stroking her softly.
"So which stall is Snowflake's?" May asked Lindsey curiously. She had no idea where to put her beautiful girl, but she wanted to make sure the mare was comfortable.

“I’m not sure.” Lindsey said, leaning forward, looking down the barn. “Umm... Well... Stall 9 & 10 is my sister’s horses, and stall 7 is Ruby’s. Have a look at you’re sheet, it should tell you’re stall and room number.”
Lindsey had no idea where she should be putting this new girl’s mare. It was becoming clear that she thought a lot of her horse. She came away from Abbie, peering down the line of stalls to see where the empty boxes were. “Do you not have a sheet?” Lindsey asked. If she didn’t then they would have to put her in any old box. She could lend her’s for the night if she had to, Ruby was out to pasture.
Lindsey started to worry for her a bit. She could hold the mare if she had to go away to get a sheet, or to find out where to put snowflake. Lindsey didn’t even know that a new girl was coming.

"Umm... I should have it here somewhere..." May said, letting go of Snoeflake's halter rope and searching her pockets. Snowflake stayed still, not running away from her beloved owner.
May finally found the sheet and pulled it out. "Stall 1 and room 3." She said before looking up again and smiling. She put the rope over Snowflake's neck and clucked to her, walking ahead. The dapple grey mare followed behind happily and followed her into the stall.

“Well there you.” Lindsey said, smiling. “Is Snowflake been stabled all night or are you going to turn her out?”
Lindsey walked down to stalls to her ponies, leaning on the door with her arms folded. She glanced over at her pony, seeing that she was ready to go. “Because I’m going now, so If you want to come.”
She unlocked the stable, walking in to her pony. Ruby lifted her head, taking a step towards her owner. Lindsey offered her hand to sniff, which Ruby nuzzled. “Good girl.”
She pulled the turn-out rug down from the stable bars, throwing it over the little mare. She started to straighten it up, getting it safely on her. Lindsey looked back at May, waiting for an answer.
